APS, a common biochemical reagent, is a strong oxidant and is widely used in polymer chemistry research. APS is often used in the preparation of polyacrylamide gels. Its mechanism of action lies in the formation of oxygen free radicals in aqueous solutions, catalyzed by TEMED. These free radicals cause acrylamide and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide to polymerize, forming a gel matrix that can be used to screen macromolecules. APS can be used to study protein-protein interactions through photo-induced cross-linking chemical reactions. APS is commonly used in the preparation of polyacrylamide gels. The PAGE gel accelerator is volatile. Please tighten the cap after use. At room temperature, the gel can solidify within 30 minutes. If the temperature is too low, it can be placed in a 37°C incubator to solidify.
